SECTIONAL VIEW OF THE NAVE.
SECTIONAL VIEW OF THE EASTERN TRANSEPT.
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION 1862.
Very large fold-out, highly detailed wood engraving showing sections through the buildings designed by Captain Francis Fowke of The Royal Engineers on the site in South Kensington now occupied by the Natural History museum. It was intended to be a permanent building but Parliament declined the Government's wish to purchase the building and the materials were sold and used for the construction of Alexandra Palace.
Repair to top right corner affecting edge of printed area, 12cm. closed tear to right edge into blank area between engravings, and some additional folds but otherwise in very good condition for a large engraving that is rare to find in any condition.
