Meux's Brewhouse built about 1796

Griffin Brewery Liquorpond Street, now Crerkenwell Road, built in 1763. At the time of this engraving in 1807, following a dispute amongst the partners of Reid, Meux & Co & Griffin Brewery, Sir Henry Meux left the concern and acquired the Horseshoe Brewery at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street.

Etching by  James Peller Malcolm (1767-1815) Topographer, artist, etcher and engraver. Born in Philadelphia, he moved to London to study at the Royal Academy and contributed to and compiled many works relating to London history, topography and customs.
