Hardback 8vo. (15x23cm.) 850 pages. 8 photographs by W. Monkhouse, York (photographs pasted to pages). 21 b/w illustrations. 2 maps (Plan of Selby. Geological map of the parishes of Selby and Brayton by overprinted in 3 colours.) All as called for. Brown cloth with gilt title to spine and front board. Binders label inside back board "BOUND BY BURN 37 & 38 KIRBY ST."

Board edges worn and frayed. Boards loosening. Spine ends fraying and worn. Text block split at page 256. Contents clean. Both maps clean. Short closed tear to bottom fold of Selby plan. Light spotting to a few pages but generally clean throughout. 
A scarce book in this first edition.
