TO JOHN HOUGHTON, ESQ. THIS VIEW OF CHRIST CHURCH, IS HUMBLY INSCRIBED, BY HIS OBEDIENT SERVANT, T. TROUGHTON.

Wood engraving originally published in parts issues by Thomas Troughton from 1806. William Robinson then acquired the woodblocks and published them in The History of Liverpool from the Earliest Authenticated Period down to The Present Time...William Robinson, Liverpool, 1810.

Christ Church, on the south side of Hunter Street, also known as Temple Church, was built in 1797 by John Houghton, distiller of The Bull Inn, Trueman Street.

Uncommon. Old hand colour.
