Etching by Israel Sylvestre (1621-1691) plate 3 from a series of 12 published in Vues d'Italie. by Pierre Marsette, Paris 1640-1660.
Born in Nancy in 1621, Sylvestre made several trips to Italy from about 1640 to 1653, producing a large number of fine etchings.
The Arch of Portugal, also known as the Arch of Hadrian, Arch of Tropholi, Arch of Tripoli or Arch of Octavian, situated on the via del Corso.
