Fanciful depiction of Old Sarum engraved by John Paas published in Encyclopaedia Londinensis by John Wilkes (1750-1810) printer, bookseller and stationer.
John Paas (Pass) (1790-1832) engraver, copperplate printer, engravers' and bookbinders' toolmaker in Pentonville. He was brutally murdered in Leicester by James Cook, printer and bookbinder. Cook was sentenced to death and was the last British criminal to be gibbetted after being hanged.
