Plan of the area from Liverpool Street to Aldgate showing Bishopsgate and Houndsditch with vignette of Crosby Hall, originally a medieval mansion built in 1466 by the wool merchant Sir John Crosby, at the time of this engraving only the Great Hall and Parlour wing of the mansion had survived a fire of 1672. The surviving parts of the Great Hall were moved in 1910 to its present site in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea.
