ASTON BURY.
Aston Bury, a manor house near Aston, East of Stevenage, built by the Boteler family.
This original print in later hand colour was published in Picturesque Hertfordshire A Volume of Sketches by Duncan Moul... With Descriptive Letterpress by F.G.Kitton. London: F. E. Robinson & Co. 1904 and shows the manor house after the restoration in 1883 for William Edward Freeman O'Brien. The house was restored again in 1809 and in 1973 conversion into a teacher training centre was abandoned and converted instead into luxury apartments completed in 1989.
