Drawn by Alfred Edward Taylor (1887-1958) for Pratt's Motor Oil Company issued as complimentary promotional uncoloured folding maps the early 1930's.
The maps were redrawn at a larger scale and sold as Fine art copies...Beautifully reproduced on heavy toned paper in eight colours, suitable for framing, price 1s., post free, from the Anglo-American Oil Co., Ltd." also in the early 1930's.
Following the rebranding of the company's fuel brand names to Esso, the maps were re-issued at the reduced scale in Pictorial Britain and Ireland, H.G.McCann Company Limited, London 1936.
This example is from the original 1930 folding map issue in fine later hand colour. Archival tape repairs to splits at left and right edges, splits at left edge extend into the plain areas of the map.
