Steel engraving published in Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity...by A.H.Payne... E.T.Brain & Co. London. 1846-7. Hand coloured. The sign over the entrance reads Crosby Hall Literary and Scientific Institution who occupied the building between 1842 and 1860. The building was removed and rebuilt in Chelsea in 1910.
