THE HERTFORDSHIRE HOME OF THE LATE MR. CAREW
Lithograph published in The Hertfordshire Illustrated Review 1893.
Carpenders Park, a suburb of Watford, was originally an estate around a manor house of that name which later became Highfields girls school and demolished in 1960.
The lithograph shows the manor House shortly after Robert Russell Carew's death in 1893. Comparing the lithgraph to the plate in Cussan's History of Hertfordshire, a notable addition to the house, presumably added by Robert Carew, is the room at the top of the tower.
Uncommon. Typeset text verso. Old adhesive stains at corners, not affecting the image.
