Original ink and watercolour on board of Wallace House St Andrew Street Hertford. The Naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913) lived in the house in his early years and a plaque commemorating Wallace is above the far right window. The painting is unsigned and was probably an architect's sketch produced in the late 1970's as part of the proposal for the construction of the St Andrew Mews Mews behind the house accessed through the coaching entrance. (See separate listing for a watercolour sketch by the same hand of the Mews houses.)
