Originally drawn and engraved on copper by John Drapentier for publication in Sir Henry Chauncy’s Historical Antiquities of Hertfordshire in 1700, this re-issued and reduced version, printed using the newly invented lithographic process, with the image drawn on a limestone slab, was published in the 1826 reprint of Chauncy’s work.
