MORAVIAN BUILDINGS IN & NEAR LONDON &C.1888

INGATESTONE HALL, ESSEX. 24 Miles from London; leased by Count Zinzendorf as a County Seat in 1749. (near Chelmsford.) A Synod of the Moravian Church was held here in 1752.

"BROADOAKS" ESSEX: 32 miles from London, called by Zinzendorf "Lamb's Inn" . The Moravian Boarding Schools were removed from Little Wild St., Lincoln's Inn Fields, June 19. 1742. The Boys went to Buttermere, Wilts in 1745, thence to SmithHouse (Yorks) in 1748 & to Fulneck in 1753. The Girls were taken from Broad Oak to Mile End Rd. in 1746, afterwards to Lindsay House, Chelsea, and in 1755 to Fulneck, where both Establishments still flourish.
