MORAVIAN BUILDINGS IN & NEAR LONDON &C.1888

INGATESTONE HALL, ESSEX. 24 Miles from London; leased by Count Zinzendorf as a County Seat in 1749. (near Chelmsford.) A Synod of the Moravian Church was held here in 1752.

"BROADOAKS" ESSEX: 32 miles from London, called by Zinzendorf "Lamb's Inn" . The Moravian Boarding Schools were removed from Little Wild St., Lincoln's Inn Fields, June 19. 1742. The Boys went to Buttermere, Wilts in 1745, thence to SmithHouse (Yorks) in 1748 & to Fulneck in 1753. The Girls were taken from Broad Oak to Mile End R^d. in 1746, afterwards to Lindsay House, Chelsea, and in 1755 to Fulneck, where both Establishments still flourish.
