FROM THE SERIES OFTEN KNOWN AS "CONDER HOGG"

Copper engraving by Thomas Bowen produced for George Augustus Walpoole's British Traveller published by Alexander Hogg from 1784 with further issues in 1784, 1790 and 1794. 

The Berkshire map was engraved and printed with the map of Somerset on the same plate and page, the maps abutting at the margin border. This example, from the first issue, has been separated from the Somerset map and re-margined in matching contemporary paper to bottom edge. Some patchy toning. Neat later hand colour.
