The White Fryers in Glocester Aug. 24. 1721.
Copper engraving by E. Kirkhall after a sketch by William Stukeley (1687-1765) showing the Carmelite Friary with gentlemen playing bowls in the foreground. Published in Stukeley's Itinerarium Curiosum in 1724.
The friary was outside the north gate to the city in the area shown as Friars Ground on Cole & Roper's 1805 plan but nothing now remains.
Trimmed to margins, repair to closed closed tear in blank area of sky right margin, small area of loss to bottom right corner.
