Copper engraving from Naaukeurige versameling der gedenk-waardigste zee en land-reysen na Oost en West-Indiën. by Pieter Van der Aa, Leiden 1706-1708.
Pieter van der Aa (1659-1733) was a prolific publisher of maps and atlases working from Leiden in the Dutch province of South Holland. 

The plate depicts natives of Mexico City carrying goods to maarket including a floating garden being taken down river. In the foreground a nobleman with a servant holding a parasol negotiates with market traders. 

The work comprised a collection of maps and views of voyages to the Americas, Indies and other new discoveries from accounts of voyages between 1246 & 1696 by De Bry, Hakluyt, Herrera, de Barros, Thevenot, Columbus, Vasco de Gama, Cortes, Vespucci and Drake.
