Monochrome lithographic print after a wood engraving by French engraver Eugene Froment (1844-1926) published in a Christmas supplement of Chatterbox magazine in 1887. Chatterbox was a weekly paper for older children founded in 1866 by John Erskine Clarke who edited the magazine until 1902. Publication continued until 1955. Issues were collected into hardcover annuals.
