Gordal, at Malham in Craven, Yorkshire. The waters collected in a Sudden Thunder Shower about 18 years ago, burst a Passage thro: the Rock (where it first appears tumbling thro: a kind of an Arch) and Rush'd with such Violence that it fill'd the Valley below with Vast pieces of broken Rocks and Stones for a quar.r of a Mile below, w.ch were before a bed of Sand. This View is Inscrib'd to Tho:s Lister of Gisburn Park Esq.r by his most hum.le Serv.t T. Smith.

Engraved for Thomas Smith's Four Romantick Views of vast rocks and cataracts at Gordal and Matlock High-Torr. 
In good condition for a large unfolded print. Reasonable margins (min 15mm from plate edge) some creasing mostly at paper edges but none severe. Minor toning from an old mount.
Hand coloured.
