Painted by Sir Tho.s Lawrence, P.R.A. | Engraved by H. Robinson.
FISHER, SON & CO. LONDON, 1834.

Steel line & stipple engraving by Henry Robinson (fl.1827-1872) after a painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) of Sir Robert Peel, 1st Baronet (1750-1830), British politician and industrialist and one of the early textile manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. Father of Sir Robert Peel (1788-1850) statesman, Prime Minister and founder of the Metropolitan Police Service and known as the father of modern British Policing.
Henry Robinson (fl.1827-1872) was a prolific engraver specialising in portraits and annuals. He is often confused with portrait engraver John Henry Robinson (1796-1871), but signs his work, as here, H. Robinson.
Sir Thomas Lawrence PFA FRS (1769-1830) was a well known and fine English portrait painter and fourth president of the Royal Academy.
Fine hand coloured engraving. Staining to paper edges well away from the printed area.
