Cajamarca, Peru in 1533, Hernando de Soto sent by Pizarro to invite the Inca king Atahualpa to a meeting The Inca soldiers, unfamiliar with men on horseback, are showing fear on their faces while Atualpa bravely refuses the invitation.

The work comprised a collection of maps and views of voyages to the Americas, Indies and other new discoveries from accounts of voyages between 1246 & 1696 by De Bry, Hakluyt, Herrera, de Barros, Thevenot, Columbus, Vasco de Gama, Cortes, Vespucci and Drake.
