Britain as it was divided in the time of the Saxon Heptarchy from the end of Roman rule in Britain in the 5th century until unification into the Kingdom of England under Egbert of Wessex in 829.
Engraved by John Sturt (1675-1730) for the set of maps produced by Robert Morden (fl.1669-1703) for publication in Edmund Gibson's translation of William Camden's Britannia, London, Awnsham and John Churchill and Abel Swale, 1695.
Fine example from the 1753 edition of Camden's Britannia in neat later hand colour.
