Receipt Dated 21st August 1839 to the value of £4,300 to The Earl of Falmouth.
In 1829 The Earl of Falmouth acted as second to Lord Winchilsea in the duel with the Duke of Wellington, then Prime Minister over Catholic emancipation.
£4,300 in 1839 is equivalent to approximately £500,000 today.
