Engraved by Cornelius Danckerts for publication in the joint editions of John Speed's Theatre and Prospect from 1627 to 1676.
The map is based on a prototype map prepared by Speed c.1601 (Shirley, British Isles 239) and depicts the invasions and battles in the British Isles from 1066 to 1588 culminating with the Spanish Armada.

Some occasional brown marks to top centre of the map (mainly on the reverse) and an old repair to bottom centrefold split but still a very good example of this highly decorative and detailed map from the 1676 edition published by Thomas Bassett and Richard Chiswell.
