From the scarce first issue with Hinton imprint. A very early, strong impression with many of the engraver's guide lines, including a setting out grid are clearly visible -  these guide lines are polished off the plate in the first few 'pulls'. A superb example with large margins, a single closed tear approx 2" into the map top left, is the only fault but this has been well repaired and is not obvious. Hodson 36(ii)

Rare edition with the engraver's name (Schmollinger) erased and replaced with the name of James Bingley, one of the other engravers involved with this series. The reason for the juxtaposition of engravers names is unknown but surviving examples from this single edition are extremely uncommon.
